    • Welcome

A calling to the sacred priesthood of Jesus Christ is one of the most beautiful gifts that a Catholic man can receive.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown comprises 8 counties in central Pennsylvania: Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Centre, Clinton, Fulton, Huntingdon, and Somerset.

The first priest to serve in the diocese was Fr. Demetrius Gallitzin.

If you are discerning your vocation and are wondering if you are called to the priesthood, there are many resources on this site that can help. Nothing compares to direct contact with a priest, however. Consider contacting your parish priest or the Director of Priest Vocations, Fr. Peter Crowe, to discover what God may have in store for you!

      • Virtual Discernment Group--College and Young Professional Men
        Friday, March 5, 8:30 PM
Discernment is a work between the Church and the individual. It should be encouraging that it is never really done alone! For college students and recent college graduates, discernment can be quite a daunting challenge. We work together to go through the book "To Save a Thousand Souls" which can be obtained for free from GoPriest.com. This is a virtual discernment group over zoom.
